DASH Connect and MCP: connect SPOTIO to your AI tools

DASH Connect lets AI tools you already use work directly with your SPOTIO data. You can ask your assistant to look up records, plan a route, or log an activity, and it acts in SPOTIO for you.

It works both ways: your AI tool can read your data and write to it — creating records, scheduling activities and updating fields.

Your permissions still apply

This is the part to understand before you enable it. DASH Connect bypasses nothing. Your credentials are yours alone, and everything your AI tool does is scoped to exactly what you can already see and do in SPOTIO:

Admin permissions carry through
Record visibility scopes carry through
Activity permissions carry through

A rep with Individual View cannot reach another rep's records through an AI tool any more than they can through the app. Connecting a tool widens nobody's access.

These are the same actions DASH itself can perform inside SPOTIO.

Before you start

MCP Server access must be enabled on your account. If it isn't, contact your CSM or your SPOTIO admin.
You need an AI client that supports MCP — Claude Desktop, Claude.ai, ChatGPT, or any other MCP-compatible tool.
DASH is included on Standard AI plans.

Set it up

Confirm your account has MCP Server access enabled.
In the SPOTIO web app, go to Profile Settings.
Generate your MCP credentials. These are personal to you — treat them like a password and don't share them.
In your AI client, add SPOTIO as an MCP server, using the SPOTIO MCP Server URL and the credentials you just generated. [CONFIRM: the literal server URL customers should enter]
Your AI tool now has read and write access to SPOTIO, scoped to your permissions.

What people use it for

Planning a day in conversation. Ask your assistant which accounts in a territory have gone quiet, then have it build a route from the answer.
Working across tools. Combine SPOTIO with the other tools your assistant can reach. For example: pull every Closed-Won record this month, draft a thank-you email referencing the visit notes, and leave them in your Gmail drafts.
Manager analysis. Ask questions of your own pipeline and activity data in plain language, without exporting a CSV or building a dashboard first.
Build automations without writing code. Sales ops and managers can create AI-driven workflows in plain language, rather than writing against the SPOTIO API directly.

Who this is for

DASH Connect is worth setting up if you already work in an AI assistant day to day.

Managers and team leads who plan the week and want to ask questions of their pipeline in plain language.
RevOps and sales ops teams building automations that span SPOTIO and other systems.
Anyone already using Claude or ChatGPT who'd rather have SPOTIO data in that conversation than switch tabs.

If you don't use an AI assistant yet, there's nothing to connect SPOTIO to — start with DASH inside the app instead.

If it doesn't work

If you can't find the credentials screen. MCP Server access may not be enabled on your account. Contact your CSM.
If your AI client rejects the connection. Check the server URL, and that the credentials were copied whole with no trailing spaces.
If your assistant can't see records you expected. That's permission scoping working as intended. See User Permissions Overview.
If DASH features are missing entirely. A role needs DASH IQ enabled under Settings → Roles → Other before any DASH feature appears for that user. Check that first.
