Web App: How to Use KML Layers

KML and KMZ files create an overlay in SPOTIO allowing you to view and create geographic information. Data does not come in and it does not create records.

Uploading a KML/KMZ file

KML and KMZ files can be uploaded on the SPOTIO web app.

To upload a KML/ KMZ file:

  1. Go to the Map icon.
  2. On the right, click the KML icon.
  3. Drag and Drop or Click to upload your file.

Toggle on the KML switch under the layers icon in the top left corner of the map view to view the overlay.

Editing a KML/KMZ file

To edit a KML/ KMZ file:

  1. Go to the Map icon.
  2. On the right, click the KML icon.
  3. Click the pencil icon for the selected file.

You will have the ability to rename or Delete the file.

  • If changing the file name, be sure to hit Save Name to complete.
  • If deleting, tap on Remove then the Delete button to confirm.

Other Useful Information

  • Title length should be within 64 characters.
  • SPOTIO supports only KML Polygon.
  • File should not exceed 3 MB.
