# Record Conversion
## Convert a record from one type to another, like a Lead to an Account, in one click.

### **What's new**
You can now convert a record from one type to another, such as a Lead to an Account, instead of rebuilding it by hand.
The record keeps its **SPOTIO ID** and **every activity logged against it** — visits, calls, texts, emails, appointments, and notes. A **Record Converted** entry at the top of History shows the type it converted from and to, who converted it, and when.
What you can do now
- **Set up conversion paths** in **Settings → Workflow → Conversions**: choose a source and target record type, then map which fields carry over
- Use **Automap** to match fields with the same names and types in one click
- **Convert a single record** from the new **Convert** icon on web and mobile
- **Convert in bulk** on web from List, Pipeline, or Map view
- **Control who can convert** with two new Custom Role Creator permissions: **Record Conversion** and **Bulk Record Conversion**
Records can only convert along paths an admin has set up.
