In this modern day and age, many contacts prefer the convenience of texting versus a call. Not only can you do that in SPOTIO, your team can report on the efforts you’re making with text to your client base!
Outbound Text Messages
SPOTIO users are able to send text messages but only those with SPOTIO phone numbers assigned will be able to do so within the app. The steps that follow are designated for users with SPOTIO phone numbers.
Outbound Texting - Mobile
To send an outgoing text message on the mobile app:
- Select the record by tapping or searching.
- Access the record's details.
- Tap on the Text bubble icon.
- Type your message.
- Hit the arrow icon when complete.
You can also use the black circle with the plus sign to send text messages as well. Select Text Lead to begin your message then send. You can use the Comms icon on the bottom control panel to select existing messages to continue the conversation.

Outbound Texting - Web
To send an outbound text message on the web app:
- Click the Text icon at the top right or the Comms icon on the left sidebar.
- Select on New Text.
- In the search bar, type the record's name.
- Tap on the Record's name.
- Type your message.
- Hit the arrow icon or enter when complete.
If you have already had a previous conversation with the record, you can also click on the previous recipient's message on the left side or use the search bar to continue the text thread.
Inbound Text Messages
You can view inbound messages on both the web and the mobile. Both will show a notification bubble indicating there is a new message received. We recommend turning on push notifications on your phone to be alerted when you receive a new text message on your SPOTIO phone. Inbound Texting - Mobile
To view an inbound text message on the mobile app:
- Tap on the Comms icon.
- Click the Texts tab.
- Select the New message.
Tip: Received a messages from an unknown prospect? Add them as a contact in your database by clicking the plus sign in the image above to create a new record.
Inbound Texting - Web
To view an inbound text message on the web app:
- Access the Comms icon on the left sidebar.
- Click on the New message within the Texts tab.
FAQs
Can I still send text messages without a SPOTIO phone number?
You can on the mobile but it will go through your actual cell phone. The messages will live in the History of the record within the SPOTIO app.
